(Felrik has helped with the creation of this species for which I thank him)
Species: Yeaflon
Appearance: Their bodies are covered with feathers and fur.
They have one pair of wings on their backs.
Their heads have human-like eyes with a beak. The beak is more fleshy than an Earth bird's beak. On their faces they'll have more or less feathers depending on their age. The older they are, the less feathers they have. The oldest among them have no feathers on their faces and a thin layer of fur, making their faces appear nearly skull-like.
Their necks are usually thin and snake-like, though a Yeaflon that has a more human-like neck is not unheard of.
Their tails are of medium length and go from thin to tail-feathers. They also have a few extra feathers on their tail that will come out when more manueverability is needed.
Their fingers are thin, but are still able to use standard technology from other races. So it is easier for them to work with their own technology. Their fingers end with sharp talon-like claws.
Their feet are a mix between human and bird of prey feet. They use their 'talons' to attack.
Sentience: High Intelligence
Form: Humanoid with Avian features
Stature: The average height is seven feet
Diet: The Yeaflon are omnivores, though they prefer meat.
Lifespan: Tends to be 2,000 years but there are a few Yeaflon that have reached 5,000 years
Special Abilities: They can naturally sense disturbances in Zero space.
Natural Weapons: Their beaks, feet, and hands can all very deadly in a fight
Gender: While the Yeaflon have two genders, they will switch genders if there is too many or too few of a gender.
If a Yeaflon is born when there is a population boom, they will be a third gender that cannot reproduce. These Yeaflon experience little to no sexual desire, though a Yeaflon of this third gender experiencing the same sexual desire as the other two genders is not unheard of.
If a Yeaflon goes through too many gender switches they have the chance of becoming the third gender.
Reproduction: Eggs are laid by one Yeaflon to later be fertilized by another Yeaflon upon being laid. It takes five months for an egg to hatch. After the egg hatches, both parents will take equal care of their offspring.
Personality: Yeaflon appear stuck up to many species. This is because they are very precise with their language and hate when communicating with other species because they find most species' languages lacking. Especially concerning sexuality and gender. For them gender is always a changing state so their language tends to reflect that.
Sometimes they are generally stuck up as they pride themselves with their technology as well as their unique z-space navigation systems.
Number System: The Yeaflon utilize a 10 base number system
Homeworld: Vulch
History: The Yeaflon started out as different groups and it wasn't until they started exploring more of their world that they formed an overarching society for their species. Because of population affecting gender, the Yeaflon eventually established who could live where at any given time. While this may sound harsh, freedom to move around is allowed but is suggested to be limited.
One day some Yeaflon got 'visions' and they ended up changing their society to a theocracy. These 'visions' eventually became common place to the species and they were drawn to space. Because of the gender switching, it quickly became apparent that with any space exploration that how many of each gender was part of the exploration team was a priority. Since unneeded gender switching, sometimes to the third gender, happened.
Once Z-Space travel was achieved, the Yeaflon quickly figured out what the 'visions' actually were. However, that did not kill the religion but merely helped expand it.
They used to have a very stuck up attitude towards other species as they believed they were chosen by the great creator of the universe. The Yeaflon became more humble once they met up with the Andalites. They found the Andalite's sexism and distain for the disabled enough to make them change their attitude.
Culture: Yeaflon have a culture built on fostering their young as well as taking care of Yeaflon at any age. They also have a big focus on life in general which is why they decided to focus on bio-mechanics so that they were never traveling in something 'dead'. While they are very accepting of each other, they are generally uneasy accepting a non-Yeaflon.
Society: There is no big focus on gender, sexual, or romantic idenity in Yeaflon society as the gender switching makes it less of an issue than with species like Hork-Bajir or Andalites. Instead, they focus on education. This makes it so that their advancements with bio-mechanics and their unique z-space navigation systems (due to their sensitivity to z-space) will stay as good as they are now.
Evolution: Vulch used to be a much harsher world so the Yeaflon evolved to fit it.
Their ability to switch genders when needed was so that there would always be Yeaflon that could breed with each other. And a gender that couldn't breed so that a population boom wouldn't kill the species.
While they prefer meat, they have the ability to consume vegetation so if food is scarch they can still eat enough to live.
Even their current focus on education is so that they have a better chance of surviving.
Government: Theocracy that is overseen by one Yeaflon and a council. When the ruling Yeaflon dies the council prays for a few weeks and then a new leader is chosen by a shared vision. Part of the reason of the founding of a theocracy was them thinking that their ability to sense z-space disturbances was communicating with a higher power.
Language: Young Yeaflon only use verbal languages while adults use a language that combines movements and spoken words.
When there is a disabled Yeaflon, they will use either a physical or verbal language.
Yeaflon learn languages by imitating them and eventually speaking them fluently. This means if you speak to a Yeaflon once they have learned a language you won't think there is anything strange. However, if you're speaking to one that is learning a language it will endleslly repeat the same words for hours.
FTL-Capability: Yeaflon used their innate ability to sense disturbances in z-space to help advance their z-space technology. Because of their ability to sense disturbances in z-space, their z-space technology is near impossible for other species to use.
Yeerk Classification: Class 4 Other Information: They have an unparalleled aptitude for bio-mechanics which enables them to construct things such as living spaceships. The higher ranked Yeaflon have ships specifically made to only respond to their DNA signature and those ships have to be destroyed after the Yeaflon dies due to not being able to be used anymore.

Breaking the Fourth Wall IC Chat. What's said here doesn't effect the RP on the forum.
Leoff 568/Sub-Visser 19: And it was the Andalites who are responsible for it all happening. Have you ever heard of Prince Seerow?
Feb 28, 2015 1:37:01 GMT -6
Marco Ritz: You mean a pretty chill dude whose kindness was repaid by the Yeerks taking advantage of him? And let's say he's really bad, the whole Andalite race doesn't have to think they did it. It isn't like one guy equals the entire race.
Feb 28, 2015 1:40:30 GMT -6
Marco Ritz: And he wasn't the one screaming genocide, that would be Alloran.
Feb 28, 2015 1:41:22 GMT -6
Leona Marie Cabbell: I could see humans allowing the yeerks to stay and take voluntary hosts. They could also help our justice system. Instead of putting violent offenders in jail just up a yeerk in their head so their's no risk of them reoffending.
Feb 28, 2015 12:48:44 GMT -6
Leona Marie Cabbell: But I think the average yeerk prefers an all out invasion.
Feb 28, 2015 12:49:43 GMT -6
Forlin & Arliss 557: I favour a quid-pro-quo arrangement. Yeerk and host share everything. I've declined to share my laziness with Forlin, however, as he wouldn't benefit from it. -- Arliss

Forlin & Arliss 557: And of course, hosts must be voluntary. No involuntari3s. The others could be used in the Justice system. Perhaps the rest could acquire Hork Bajir and be soldiers? Morph them I mean.
Feb 28, 2015 13:48:33 GMT -6
Birchurawkp: Peace would be better than war. More beneficial to both sides.
Feb 28, 2015 21:10:29 GMT -6
Sazka 14: how would it benefit my people? Even the strictest of earth justice systems only jail 1/100 of their people, and we'd be giving up our other hosts. You'd condemn us to life of blindness and drudgery.
Mar 1, 2015 13:41:19 GMT -6
Leona Marie Cabbell: There is also of possibility of all Yeerks becoming Nothlits. Wouldn't it be ironic if the Andalites ended the war by sharing technology?
Mar 1, 2015 17:02:47 GMT -6
Birchurawkp: I would assume any Yeerks that wouldn't comply would be sent offworld to be dealt with. The fate of the Yeerks shouldn't be entirely up to any one species. Andalites are too close and humans are too young to galatic matters.
Mar 1, 2015 19:36:26 GMT -6
Birchurawkp: And if some Yeerks got morphing powers and became nothlits then you wouldn't be blind to the world.
Mar 1, 2015 19:36:53 GMT -6
Sazka 14: so my race should be extinguished then?
Mar 1, 2015 22:06:11 GMT -6
Birchurawkp: No, of course not. No species should be eradicated. Each species provides a unique perspective on the galaxy. As a Yeaflon, I would never suggest genocide. If no Yeerks could live on Earth then to live on Earth they would have to become (c)
Mar 1, 2015 23:16:02 GMT -6
Birchurawkp: nothlits or move to a different world. My good friend Norpo is not someone who I think should be forced to leave his host Ti as she likes his company and he likes her.
Mar 1, 2015 23:16:42 GMT -6
Leona Marie Cabbell: Your race should learn to coexist with other races, rather then try to rule them.
